When and How to Wash Your Bra!
Ahhhh laundry day…we all have it…we all wait way to long to do it…and, this just in, we may not be doing it right!
Aside from separating your whites and line drying your cottons, ladies, we’re here to tell you, HAND WASH your lingerie! You finally found that perfect bra that makes you look in the mirror and say “are those my boobs!?”, now make sure it lasts as long as possible!
Hand washing your bra will allow it to maintain the correct shape, keep the padding fresh, and the color crisp! There are a multitude of lingerie soaps out there. The TLBC ladies are fans of Eucalan and Forever New, but a light detergent such as Woolite also works well. Gently hand wash your bra in lukewarm water, using your hands to work the soap into the bra. If you use a specialized lingerie detergent there is no rinsing needed! If you use another detergent, gently rinse your bra until no soap is apparent. Lay the treasured piece flat to dry and, if your anything like us, wait impatiently for your delicates to be ready!
Watch TLBC Founder Emily Lau walk you through this technique below!
The other tricky question is WHEN do we wash our bra!? One key thing to remember is a bra does not need to be washed after every use, but it should be given a day of rest. This day off will help it regain its original shape and structure.
