  • The Little Bra Company Breast Cancer Myth Busters

How conscious are you of breast cancer? Are you aware of the causes of breast cancer?
Do you know how to separate fact from fiction?
As women, I’m sure we have all heard the numerous causes of breast cancer. Most women do not realize that many of the things they have been told have not been validated by science.
The Little Bra Company wanted to shine the light on breast cancer awareness by busting the most popular myths.

    • Underwire bras cause cancer because the wire constricts the breasts and cause toxins to build up in breast tissue.
-This is false. Studies show there is absolutely no link to the bra underwire causing breast cancer. Think about it; if it were true, there would be a lot more women with breast cancer years ago when tight corsets were in fashion.

    • Antiperspirants cause breast cancer because they prevent toxins from leaving your body. The toxins then travel down the breasts.
-This is false. Antiperspirants do not prevent toxins from leaving the body; they eliminate the toxins all together.

    • Drinking bottled water can cause breast cancer because the dioxin used to make the bottle leaks into the water.
-This is false. There is no dioxin in plastic water bottles.

    • Mammograms cause breast cancer because the test requires the use of radiation.
-This is false. Yes, radiation is used when conducting a mammogram, but the amount is extremely small. The amount of radiation used in a mammogram is the same a woman receives by simply being exposed to the environment.

    • Family history is the only way a woman can get breast cancer.
-This is false. Over 80% of breast cancer cases arise sporadically. That is why it is important for women to have regular check-ups.

  • The Little Bra Company Goes Back In Time!

    Hey fans!
    It’s time for a history lesson….. a bra history lesson! :)
Bras have been around since the late 19th century. By the early 20th century, more contemporary style bras had emerged. Since then, the garment has evolved in both shape and trend.
The Little Bra Company comprised a list of 6 iconic bra moments in the last 50 years.

    1950’s:
There’s a reason Bettie Page earned the title “Queen of Pin-Up.” Men couldn’t resist her jet black hair, and signature bangs. Bettie Page became one of the very first pop culture idols by showing her bra in magazines.

    1960’s:
This iconic photograph of Raquel Welch in the 1966 movie “One Million Years B.C.” is probably one of the greatest movie posters of all time. A gorgeous woman wearing mankind’s first bikini: who doesn’t love that? Because of this famous picture, Raquel quickly became the star of the film (even though she only had one line!).

    1970’s:
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…. we were introduced to Star Wars’ Princess Leia, better known as Carrie Fisher. The opening scene of Episode VI: Return of the Jedi shows Princess Leia in a brass bikini. Since then, she has been the fantasy of every man and jedi on earth and in space.

    1980’s:
The cone bra was a popular selling bra the in 1940’s and 50’s. So what made Madonna’s cone bra so shocking? She severely exaggerated the shapes of the cones and wore it as a costume for a performance. Madonna definitely knows how to make headlines!

    1990’s:
On July 10, 1999 the US Soccer team won the Women’s World Cup! The victory in the final game was a result of a penalty kick given by Brandi Chastain. To celebrate her goal, Brandi slid onto her knees, took off her jersey, and threw hear hands in the air. This picture became an iconic image and graced the covers of numerous magazines.

    Present:
Lady Gaga is one of the most creative artists the world has ever known. When asked about her Pyro Bra, she spoke about a vision she had of her breasts exploding and asked the Haus of Gaga to make it happen. As we all know, Haus of Gaga achieved the Pyro Bra and Lady Gaga has been seen wearing the creation many times.

  • 2011 Daytime Emmys Fashion Review

The 2011 Emmys saw a variety of trends, but the one that stood out the most was red. More than 7
women, including petite actresses Lea Michelle and Angela Kinsey, show off elegant red garments for
    the award show.

Get in the trend and try out The Little Bra Company’s bestselling Lucia bra in red.

The second most talked about trend was sparkle. A handful of stars rocked beautiful sequin gowns.
Their dresses exhibit various colors, prints, and styles.
Petite actress and fan of The Little Bra Company, Kerry Washington, decided to incorporate both trends
with her gorgeous red sequin gown.

Most of the nominees and guests sported long maxi dresses, as opposed to a knee-length or short
    cocktail dresses.

TLBC wants to hear from the fans:
Who do you think was best dressed at the event?
Did you notice any other fashion trends?
