Motivational Monday Oscars Edition
It is the day after Oscar Sunday and we, like so many others, are reliving every wonderful, crazy, touching, hilariously perfect moment!
The fashion was wow, the nominees were all amazing, Ellen did a lovely job, and the winners were all gracious and deserving! We enjoyed the best selfie moment to date (as did everyone else clearly). We started to crave pizza right around the time it was passed around, and we jumped on board the new ultimate fantasy couple train- hello Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Emma Watson!
Whether you enjoyed it as much as we did or missed the golden statue’s big night there were some truly inspirational moments that the TLBC Team would like to commemorate for this special addition of Motivational Monday!
Last night, like many Oscar nights before it, was chalk full of beautiful, heartfelt, and tearful acceptance speeches. Touching stories and wise words were shared and each made for some wonderful TV moments.
Jared Leto spoke beautifully about his mother and ended with “…to those of you who have ever felt injustice because of who you are and who you love, I stand here in front of the world with you and for you.” Eloquently put Mr. Leto. We thank you for those beautiful words and your equally as beautiful hair!
Cate Blanchett once again proved she is supremely classy and a little bit bad a** (excuse the strong wording). In a speech including many words of thanks and lovely messages to her fellow nominees, (reference “#suckit Julia, you know what I mean?”) she ended with a shout out to the strength and prominence of female driven films. Her strong parting words “The world is round people!” were some of our favorite of the night.
Matthew McConaughey won best actor for his superb job in Dallas Buyer’s Club and once again regaled us with his flawlessly wise words and smile worthy life lessons. Sharing with us his secrets for a happy life, which include God, something to look forward to, and a hero to chase (incidentally it’s himself in 10 years); Matthew once again made us smile, made us laugh, and ended with our favorite “Alright, alright, alright!”
Though all of the above were wonderful and memorable, this edition of “Motivational Monday” includes a line from the supremely lovely Lupito Nyongo’s speech. The best supporting actress winner was the epitome of grace and style last night and, with her words of thanks, she solidified herself as a true lady. Our favorite moment - “No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid”.
So as you begin your week, remember that your dreams are valid and this may just be the week to begin chasing them!
